Our new leader, War-Boy Ian, has decreed that his first giveaway of his shift will be an all shift long art challenge. In true Mad Max fashion Ian is looking for your interpretation of what a Warbus for Hope would look like. 

Any medium, any style, whatever you think the War-Boys of DBFH would ride into the fundraising battle. You have plenty of time to fetch your chrome and create our ride. This challenge will run until 1:00 AM PST (One hour before the end of Ian’s shift). What is the prize you may ask? Well it’s our second Fangamer Desert Bus 9 T-Shirt lot!

James has decided it’s time for some more eloquent writing.

We our doing our first written word challenge, and it’s for quite the prize! We are looking for a Haiku based on Cookie Clicker, the surprise killer app of Desert Bus this year. Penny Arcade is a webcomic that was started by Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik in 1998. Fast forward to today and you’ll find they’ve grown to be also known for gaming conventions, video games, an internet TV channel, and the charity Child’s Play.

Many Penny Arcade team members will be joining us on site throughout the run. We can’t wait to see what shenanigans they get up to.

From Velázquez to Bacon, pontifical portraits are a great tradition in art! We thought we’d join in on the fun here at Desert Bus, and that brings us to our first ART CHALLENGE of DB9!

Our intrepid driver James is a man who wears many hats, sometimes literally! Today he put together this maritime mitre, and that is the inspiration behind the Art Challenge!

James would like you to create some art of him as POPE UNDER THE SEA! You can do that in any medium you like, but it should include his spectacular hat!…. and, per James’ special request, must ALSO include Steven Universe! How you want to work all that is up to you!
