Tim Schafer will be calling into Desert Bus at 9pm PST on Wednesday, November 19th.

His career started at LucasArts in 1989, where he would become known for his work on Secret of Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, and Grim Fandango.

In July 2000, Tim founded Double Fine Productions and would become known for Psychonauts, Brütal Legend, and Broken Age. Broken Age (originally under the working title Double Fine Adventure) garnered a lot of attention with it’s kickstarter campaign crowd funding over $3.3 million in 2012.

Most recently Costume Quest 2 was released, a beta for Massive Chalice was released (for kickstarter backers with the beta access pledge level) and Double Fine is working on a remastered version of Grim Fandango for the PS4 and PS Vita.

Double Fine Productions is located in San Francisco and strives for a commitment of making high-quality games that emphasis on originality, story, characters, and fun.

If things feel a bit cozier tonight on Desert Bus For Hope, it’s because part of our production space has been annexed for a Fort Tectoria networking party, and consequently we’ve all been crammed into the production studio. But out of that potential lemon, we squeezed a nice, tall glass of lemonade… for the children!

You see, among the dignitaries at that party were Andrew Wilkinson, MLA for Vancouver-Quilchena and provincial Minister of Technology, Innovation and Citizens’ Services, and Greg Kyllo, Parliamentary Secretary for the BC Jobs Plan to the Minister of Jobs, Tourism, and Skills Training.

Naturally, they were curious as to what was going on in the adjacent studio space, and dropped by for an impromptu visit, which culminated in Mr. Kyllo spontaneously offering a week-long vacation package on a Lake Shuswap houseboat for auction! The bidding was fast and furious, and before you could say Shea Weber, we suddenly had another $5,000 for Child’s Play!

thebehemothThe Behemoth is a video game development studio located in San Deigo, California, that has been around since 2003. They are well known for making great games with fantastically adorable characters.

Thank you Behemoth for sending us your wonderful donations to giveaway over the run. Both the Cat Guard Bank and Castle Crashers Pink Knight were wonderful companions to have on our journey through the desert. We’re sure they’ll have found great homes while helping raise money for the children.

So you’ll often find them at comic books stores and conventions. They claim their nail wraps will keep your fingers looking in mint condition for weeks and their lip serums help make you look shiny! And who wouldn’t want to be shiny?

Espionage Cosmetics has given Desert Bus a number of contributions that have been given away over the run. Thank you so much Espionage Cosmetics for helping us raise money and to keep us bussing!

Kate sword

We gave away a FREAKING SWORD, and raised OVER $14,000 DOING IT!!!!!

You might remember MC117 from Desert Bus 7 when we were presented with “Bus Stop”, a parody of Thrift Shop by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. We loved it, broke a good few members of the team with how good it was and gave us a new theme song!

This year we got an EVEN BIGGER SURPRISE from MC117. He had teamed up with The Doubleclicks and Mega Ran in order to create an original piece of music as our theme. Here it is in all of it’s glory.

A huge thank you to MC117, Mega Ran & The Doubleclicks for their amazing collaboration on this RAD piece.
