B2J2BjeIEAAQP0_.jpg-largeLook at these kitties, they’re amazing. Well, Baxter is amazing in this shot, you can only see Khaavrens butt. Kathleen has decided to do a full-shift art challenge for her Lenticular GIF. She has tasked you all with drawing her cats, Baxter and Khaavren. That’s it, no theme, no silly stipulation. Just draw dem kitties.

Please e-mail [email protected] with your submission, subject line “Cat challenge” and please include the name you’d like used if you are selected as a winner!

You should be able to find a bunch of photos of them in both Graham and Kathleen’s Twitter accounts, as well as Graham’s Vine.

So….Magic is pretty popular with you guys huh? I have to think so because all together this donation drive raised $14,145.84 with user Tofum taking home the sheet! I don’t think I can express how wild this morning has been. I’m super proud to have been able to see you all push us into $2 Million lifetime goal, even better it was on a Zeta.

This day can only get better, stay tuned for more amazing moments like this during Desert Bus!

Driving: Monday, Nov 17 10am – 10pm

Driving since: 2010
Points: 8
Crashes: 2

When not at Desert Bus, she can be found:
Doing LoadingReadyRun stuff.

Special Skills:
I’m really good at researching things, a sure fire hit with the kids! Who wants to know an obscure fact?
Also: villany, plotting, scheming, evil.

She’s a total geek for:

  • Cats.
  • Music.
  • World domination.

Claim to Fame:
I have many bridges in my career and yet have never been convicted of arson.

Biggest fear about Driving for DB8:
My greatest fear is that Thulsa Doom’s necromantic army will overrun Desert Bus, Vancouver Island and the World, plunging us all into 1000 years of darkness as humanity is bent and subjugated to the demon Snake God Set. I do not want him to beat me to it.
If she was reincarnated as a fruit or vegetable she would want to be:
Something with a brief life cycle so my agony filled existence as a self aware piece of plant matter could come to a mercifully short end. Either that or something with a mouth so I could scream.

Favourite Cheese:
Really strong blue cheese? Something that most people hate in any case. Those are the things that bring me joy.

Doesn’t want you to know she listens to:
There is no such thing as guilty pleasure music. Only pleasure music.

Her “moves like Jagger” are more like:
They’re not like goddamn Maroon 5’s I tell you what.

To prepare for driving the bus she is:
No preparation. I will enter a fugue state and emerge victorious 12 hours later, the bodies of my enemies strewn before me.

What symbol does your superhero cape have on it?
Superhero? Please. My villain costume doesn’t need a cape.

In roughly 10 minutes since the Donation Drive was announced on air, you all have made Alex the lead driver for the run! With the exception of Matt’s DB7 shift a Zeta shift has never so easily become the lead, it’s been an impressive morning! Back to the M15 sheet, donations of $8.88 or multiples thereof until 9:55 AM PST will enter you for a chance to win! I’m going back to watching Alex’s graph skyrocket!

AshlyBurch Ashly Burch will be calling into Desert Bus at 11am PST Monday, November 17th.

Ashly Burch is best known for Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin’? (HAWP). Created with Anthony Burch, HAWP is a comedic series of videos focusing on video games as well as industry trends and social impact. The series often uses surreal humor.

If you’re an anime fan you may have also heard her voice Sasha Braus from Attack on Titan. Or perhaps in video games such as Borderlands 2 voicing Tiny Tina.

Recently she’s made a vocal appearance in the web series Bee and PuppyCat as Cass.

You can find out more about Ashly on her website or check her out on twitter.

Have a question for Ashly? Leave them in the comments below!

Omi Inouye is the author of Andre Curse, Introductory Calculus For Infants, and A Girl’s Guide To Dating A Geek. A writer and a geek, Omi Inouye has been donating one of her whimsical books to Desert Bus since the opening of the prize mines.

These stories have become a traditional part of the event. Like campfire stories, but on a bus.. and maybe without the fire part. Thank you Omi Inouye for sticking on this journey with us. It’s good to have your company on this seemingly never ending road.

TEAM ZETA FOR LYFE, YO!

This was a fabulous shift even before we reached that wonderful milestone. The shift began with a live auction of a rare Raz figurine from Psycholauts, which went to Mrphlip for an astounding $4500!

Alex held an art challenge featuring Jund staples, and the speech jammer made a reappearance when Skeleton and Alex had a lively and spirited discussion on the merits (or not) of skeletons. We had some fun laughing until we cried at the pronunciation guide, and assembled some tiny Japanese food. But mostly WE HAVE DONATED 2 MILLION DOLLARS FOR THE CHILDREN AND THAT IS WONDERFUL
