What is Desert Bus for Hope? We are a charity fundraiser for Child’s Play. We raise money by playing the world’s worst video game, Desert Bus, in exchange for donations. The more money raised, the longer we play. That said, it would be pretty boring just to watch a bunch of people play the world’s worst video game. That’s why we have contests, live auctions, silent auctions, incredible prizes and a complete lack of self respect. We’ll also be accepting challenges to do all manner of silly things (Songs, Dances, Poems, Readings, etc) in exchange for donations.

You should contact the BBC and see if you can get a story written about it, I’m sure that would drum up alot more donations!

Raul, if you can’t donate you can still help spread the word about Desert Bus! The crew can always use your emotional support, too…24 hours is a long drive, after all.
I’m sooooo excited!! I remember someone said before Year 2 “Last year was the most fun I’ve ever had on the internet.” I find that’s true for me every year. I actually save money to donate to this.
Anyway, I noticed we’re over 5K before this thing has even started, so do we get the special Kathleen surprise? And can we get the Twilight reading, storyteller style? How about the news team giving us live play by play? Can the news desk fund a traffic copter? I’ll donate more if someone tapes a paper doll helicopter to the screen and makes propeller noises with their mouth!

where can we post our challenges?
Last yeah, I changed my gamertag, this year I plan to stay up and game on Xbox Live, tag ComeRideTheBus. I’ll be playing most CoD: Black Ops and Fable 3 if anyone would care to join me. I’ve set it up this year so that for every 2 hours I game, I earn $5 in donations towards Child’s Play.
So I’ve stocked the fridge with energy drinks and as soon as they go live, will start playing.
Awesome, I look forward to watching the LRR crew abuse themselves for charity/our collective amusement. Unfortunately I’m watching Harry Potter tonight at 6, so I won’t be able to catch the beginning.
Still, I look forward to checking it out later.

I wake up 12 someodd hours later and get on and find Morgan looking practically dead. James should be proud 😛 (But come on Morgan, I’m pulling for you!)
Those portraits are worth around a hundred or so per head! I’m an artist who has drawn similar and I know how long it takes with that level of detail. I’d value the lot of them around 1K.
Wow, I can’t believe people are playing this game 15 years after it was made and never released. I worked on the game for Absolute Entertainment. Brings back some great memories.

Let me just say, along with Wil Wheaton, I’m really proud of you guys for what you’re doing, it’s amazing and you guys are outstanding for doing Desert Bus year after year.
Loading Ready Run and all who have helped run Desert Bus, you are a great group of people and I wish nothing but the best for you in your futures. What you do each year really touches my heart (which is saying something for a soulless ginger).
Now excuse me, I think I have something in my eye. *Sniff*

Awww, I hate I missed the end. Stupid router :(. But still, I stayed up for 28 hours on saturday watching ya’ll, so I got to see alot of Desert Bus :D. It was alot of fun, good to see Morgan and Bill again, hope they can make it into more hustles.
Ya’ll have really done a GREAT service for the children, and I hope that you can always do this, even when you’re like 90 and parts of you are plastic or metal. Thank you so much, and since I didn’t get to donate here, maybe I can donate some other time to Child’s Play :). Really awesome job! I love Loading Ready Run, can’t wait to see what ya’ll pull off in the coming new year!
