Later on in today’s Alpha Flight shift, we’ll be talking about our Brave New Faves: musical selections from our on-shift team members. In honor of this, we wanted to kick off a Creative Challenge! We’re challenging the community to come up with cover art for our Alpha Flight musical mix-tape.

Email your creations to [email protected] with the subject line “Alpha Flight Mixtape.” Please include your submission as an attachment in .png or .jpg format. Please name the file, and include in your email, the name you’d like to go by should we show your submission on-air.

We’ll accept submissions until 5:00pm PST today. The winner will receive a Desert Bus for Hope T-Shirt and a DBloon!

Time to check in on our Silent Auctions for today. These all end at 4pm PST!

First up is the Desert Bus Shift Clock that has been specially crafted to go for a full 24 hours, so you will always know what shift you’re in! This is over $1k and going!

A tradition now for 3 years, we welcome Jagasilk again for a tea ceremony. This set includes: an apprentice chawan (a ceramic bowl for preparing and drinking maccha), an apprentice chasen (a bamboo whisk for preparing maccha), a chasen’naoshi (a holder for the chasen), and a chashaku (a bamboo scoop). Also included is an electric kettle and scale, and some Jagasilk maccha.

Another Zeta Shift has come and gone, but never fear, we are here to let you know what you missed!

It started off with Beej getting real friendly with the co-pilot’s chair:

Ian takes his leave for the evening, joining Alex and Beej for a rousing rendition of the Mazinger Z theme:

Zeta hit over 9k shift total, so everyone took their union-mandated 30 minute break:

Zeta took a moment to stretch it out:

Ben practiced his skills as a late-night radio DJ, welcoming us to Radio DBFH, Da Best Friggin’ House:

Dale arrived, and treated chat and the room to a reading from the Hobbit, along with Cam and Andre:

And we wrapped up by getting welcomed to Hell!
