Desert Bus is excited to host Jim Sterling on Thursday, November 21st at 11:00am PST.

Jim is the Reviews Editor for the independent video game blog Destructoid and host of The Escapist series Jimquisition.  Jimqusition began on YouTube and ran for twenty-seven episodes between October 2010 and January 2011. The series was picked up by The Escapist  and resumed on April 18th, 2011, where it has resided ever since.

Jim is well known for adopting an inflammatory persona on his shows, particularly in his video series Jimquisition, in which he offers his personal views on subjects related to or about video games the video game industry. Though the opinions presented are his own he prefers to deliver them through the provocative persona of a narcissistic pedagogue whose catchphrase is “Thank God for me!”

Despite his busy schedule Jim also regularly contributes to GamesRader, GamePro, and Game Front. He also writes and performs poetry for Jim and Yahtzee’s Rhymedown Spectacular, which he hosts with Ben “Yahtzee” Crowshaw , hosts the Destructoid video game podcast Podtoid, and hosts segments for the Movie Defense Force series.

If you have questions for Jim Sterling, please leave them in the comments below.

Oh, team Zeta Shift. There are so many things which go on, and such incredibly funny events, and I love working this shift. Here’s what you missed.

This is QWERPline. It was bussing hysterical.

Ashton issued a photoshop contest for Sad Cowboy Paul. The results were HYSTERICAL, but the winner just broke me, at like 1am. Way before we normally break.

It was also a Musical Theater-inspired shift! We sang an outrageous amount of songs, and then this thing happened: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fwuq4uIDGg

I posted up the feels from two nights ago in this blog post, and overall it was a silly, sweet, and very funny shift. Have a great day, Desert Bus.

We have a lot of support from media coming in every day, from forums to big-time articles. Though we can’t thank each and every one of them (seriously, we’d love to if we could) we’d like to take some time to send out very special thanks to the following paragons:

Our first batch of steaming hot special thanks goes to Alexandria Brown of the Boulder Gaming Examiner for her article “Desert Bus for Hope uses worst game to fund-raise for charity”, which not only encouraged readers to visit Desert Bus and watch our snazzy for-the-children antics, but also gave a solid history of both the charity and the Penn and Teller game, which she rightly dubs the worst video game ever. Ever.

Next, a big time shout out to our friends over at FANGAMER for their encouragement and promotion of the awesome Jon Kay Desert Bus 7 tee shirts.

And finally, extra special with a cherry on top thanks to Phil Plait (of Bad Astronomy fame) and Slate.com for the article “Take a Ride with Me on Desert Bus. For the Children!” It’s always great to hear from Phil, and his support is nothing short of fantastic. Thanks for the kind words and all the help you give us doing what we do FOR THE CHILDREN!

Addendum: Because it somehow missed my list of posts to praise, Siobhan Harper over at Dojit was one of the first to lead the charge with her article “Why You Should Watch Desert Bus” way back on November 15th! The article is not only informative and supportive of our cause but it’s also a good read. Thanks for your hard work, Siobhan! We here at Desert Bus really do appreciate it.

cardkingdomMagic: The Gathering rules, and the place where it rules is Card Kingdom. Card Kingdom is an MTG shop physically located in Seattle, WA, but their awesome inventory of tabletop games, apparel, cards and paraphernalia is also available on cardkingdom.com. Want to rep your Ravnica guild with a T-Shirt? Selling MTG singles? Looking for bulk playsets, stylish accessories, or the last Mythic for your deck? Look here.

The folks who run Card Kingdom have also been known to sponsor LoadingReadyRun MTG drafts. So if you like live-stream LRR features (kind of like Desert Bus Driver Cam, but with Magic), you may thank Card Kingdom for supporting that, too.

Card Kingdom continues to be an amazing sponsor of Desert Bus for Hope and has once again provided us with uncut foil sheets of Magic Cards. In past years these sheets have been amongst our highest grossing auction lots.

Thank you, Card Kingdom, for your continued and invaluable support of Desert Bus for Hope.
