Daniel Beck won the Desert Bus Desert Buck contest by designing the perfect monetary currency of Desert Bus, but he didn’t let a little thing like winning stop him from continuing to make more!
Although the official term “Desert Buck” means a denomination of $22.805 (the amount of money raised by Desert Bus 1 for the woefully unknowing) Daniel has determined a Desert Buck to indicate the total raised by each year. In this way it seems more like a “Desert Bond” or a “Desert Stock”, but either way it’s freaking awesome.
Here are his other denominations!
Hey! Would anyone be interested in designing a Desert Bus monetary symbol? Like a $ or a yen sign!
Maybe some unholy fusion of a D and an equal sign? Maybe something smarter? Hey, you’re the artists, right?
Must be usable as a real currency should Desert Bus overtake Sealand and declare independence (essentially, no “The Artist” symbols).
What happened with the challenge coins?
Kelly, The Vietnamese Dong symbol is a lowercase d with a bar through the ascender and a line underneath: ₫, it might work.
