Stephen’s impressive eighteen year tenure at Microsoft began in April 1994 and culminated in his position as Director of Xbox LIVE Policy and Enforcement. Dear Dr W00dstock, do you think it’s possible to eradicate all forms of abuse and bigotry on Online Multiplayer, or will it always be a problem? Or in your experience is it more of a problem on certain games/genres in particular? Not pointing a finger at anyone, but just insinuating a finger pointer at a certain genre, especially ones regarding “High Altitude Low Opening” types of games.

I have a more personal question. My brother just got an interview with Microsoft for what I am told to be your computer engineering department. While I recognize that you didn’t exactly work in that department I was curious if you could give some tips on how he can succeed at his job interview. From dress attire, to questions he should ask and be ready to answer they would all be very helpful.

WHY!? Is Microsoft so damn opaque?
If they were just a little more transparent with their policies, people would like them more.
Also why is there no, more ‘direct’ way to be helpful (as a user) when it comes to reporting jerks and hackers?
What do you see as the future of online interaction, or the more beneficial? More personal, engaged interactions ala virtual reality style technology where gamers can physically interact instead of just verbally? Or do you see them staying at a more reserved nature, ala Thatgamecompany’s Journey?
Also, if you had to name the type of “misbehavior” you most dislike on XboxLive, what is it?
Can you finish the Shadowrun story? We totally missed it.
Did you play a vulcan in shadowrun? it was really hard to tell with the internets being all wonky.
Lord Hosk: Vulcan is a moderation system. He was watching Star Trek (2009) and turned off his phone. He turned on his phone afterwards, got a notification, and said, not thinking about it, “Oh man. Vulcan isn’t available anymore.”
