Some artists labor for years, building their skills, finding their truth, and then translating their deepest thoughts and feelings into their chosen medium. Psht. Amateurs. We goof off for a single week and we create art of equal, if not surpassing, value.
Observe the undeniable proof, as presented by the Winner and Runners-Up of the Night Watch Art Challenge! Try not to weep at their collective beauty. We know it's difficult.
Winner:

The original art piece is "Judith Beheading Holofernes" by Artemisia Gentileschi, oil on canvas 1620 (featuring a slight censor edit to make it bus safe). I have paired it against "BeyBlade Rip Off"I think the intense energy and stances are well matched! And puns always intended. Embrace the blade! And if you love something, let it rip. Here is a photo of Ian expressing the same joy and jubilation as Salvador Dali's "Man with Porron" after finding some "free candy" at the Moon Base. -thecwis

While introducing The Orb, Ian stares into its face in a fashion reminiscent of M.C. Escher's Hand with Reflecting Sphere, also known as Self-Portrait in Spherical Mirror. Note the placement of the fingers, particularly the thumb and pinky, mimicking Escher's own hand in the original work. While The Orb is not literally reflective, as the eye of the orb stares into Ian's own, one can't help but feel it is reflective of the self nonetheless. -batfax

Here, Graham mirrors the statue of The Falling Gaul, assumed to be created by Attalos I in 200 B.C. Much like the statue depicts a falling gladiator futilely defending himself against an attacking soldier, Graham futilely tries to defend himself from the pull of gravity. -RedRaptor

Here is 'Self-Portrait with Death Playing the Fiddle' by Arnold Böcklin alongside two photos (of Dan and Max from last night) by Kolin merged together. It's a bit unorthodox but man does it work! -Master_Treebeard

Yesterday, we learned that we really like picking the brains of our YouTuber friends while also feeding them foods that miiiight be considered a crime in several countries. So when Mikey Neumann of Alpha Flight and Film Joy wandered within grabbing distance, we grabbed!
So... did Mikey like it?

Only the VOD knows for suuuu~uuure!
Here on Night Watch, we are creating art. As we all know, art is subjective, and in this case, WE are the subject.
We want you to submit a still image from Night Watch alongside a picture of classic art (with the title and artist name of the art piece). For example:

Graham contemplates his life choices à la The Thinker by Rodin after sampling a questionable wet.
Send your entry to the email contest@desertbus.org with the subject line "Art, But Make It Bus" before 9:30pm PST. Please include the name (and pronouns) you would like us to refer to you by on stream! Please MERGE your photos into a single file (unlike above!) and send them in JPG, PNG, or GIF format.
Heeeeere we come to save the... night?

Yes, friends, get ready, for Night Watch is here to perform yet more acts of Desert Bus heroism. Got wets that need eating? We'll eat them. Got beys that need blading? We'll blade them! Got prizes that need prizing? Uh, well, that's on you actually. Donate if you want to win these cool goodies!

Yep a perfectly normal shift. Nothing weird at all. Come join us.

Hello and good morning! For today's product review we have a....giant syringe? Wait no, I'm being told it's technically a "rain gauge"? But who cares, it's whatever we want it to be!

First off, James had to run it through his....rigorous testing methods?

And then we decided to make a game of ring toss! Ashton took the weird little stopper out of it but it didn't really do much, so then we threw tape!

But then Sarah went all "engineering" on us and took them all back 😭

So of course, we had to turn it into something friend shaped.

It uh...got kinda weird after that...

And so our personification of tube-shaped friends trend continues! After a few tests, and having Rain Wilson with us all morning, we here at Dawn Guard give him the rating of TALLY!
