Silent Auctions: Final Dawn Guard Check In!
November 14, 2024 at 09:30 AM PST
Posted by Az

We're here on our last..."real" full Dawn Guard, and we have SO MANY silent auctions right now! Like, 2 more than normal!! So, let's check in on these first three going on that will all end at 10am PST.

This wonderful thing is a Chainmail Charm & Dice Bracelet! This chainmail bracelet has been woven with vibrant anodized aluminum rings in the colours of the four Desert Bus shifts. But wait, there's more! Dangling from the shiny rings are many tiny treasures, including a selection of Desert Bus themed stainless steel charms and a full 7-piece set of miniature RPG dice. The bracelet measures 7 inches (18 cm) and is one-size-fits-most, with a detachable extender adding up to 2 inches (5 cm) when needed. A perfect fit for the daring adventurer who always finds a break in the action every November for the annual observance of Desert Bus!

Next up is this cute little selection of Desert Bus Shift Eeveelutions! Experience the magic of Eevee like never before with these one-of-a-kind, handcrafted crocheted Amigurumi! Each Eeveelution stands about 10 inches tall and is uniquely inspired by the Desert Bus for Hope shift banners, including a bonus design for Omega Shift. These adorable creations have been meticulously crafted from Bernat Blanket 100% polyester yarn and stuffed with plush Poly-fil for maximum cuddleability. These custom-designed Amigurumi are a must-have for any Pokémon and Desert Bus fan.

And last for the current window of silent auctions is a collection of Giant Plush Polyhedral Dice! The seven dice in this set range in size from 5-9 inches in diameter and are created using cotton fabrics, poly stuffing, iridescent heat vinyl, and a foam that gives them structure to actually roll. The custom dice bag is lined with a satin fabric to allow the dice to move freely in the bag and topped with an elastic drawstring to secure it. If you require less galactic sized rolls, a NASA/planet themed dice set from Q-Workshop is also included.

And last (for me to talk about) is the other three that will start at 10am PST and end at 6pm PST.

First of the next selections is this Baldur's Gate 3 Paper Craft Shadow Box. The frame for this shadowbox measures 33cm x 33cm x 3cm and the piece itself is made using various types of quality cardstock and separated into 3 layers.

Second is this collection of Ceramic Dice Luminaries! Why roll for initiative when you can light the way instead? No matter how well or how badly your dice rolls treat you in game, these will surely brighten up your life. While you can use wax candles with these luminaries, there are remote controlled LED tea lights included.

And last is this bundle of Mario Embroidered Tea Towels! All 3 towels have a character name on one end, and a design picked by the maker on the other. These towels measure 24" x 14" and are 100% cotton. The huck embroidery work is 100% cotton embroidery floss.

Night Watch Goes to Bed

Tis Day 7, and that means this is the last Night Watch shift of 2024. We've had a lot of fun here: a lot of good laughs, with good people, for a good cause. Thank you to everyone who spent time with us, because you're what makes Desert Bus great!

As for tonight's shenanigans, well, there were many! We witnessed the amazing finale of a week-long Beyblade Tournament and fed Ben the Wettest of Ones. But we didn't stop there! There was also the time when...

...Ian knighted Erika into Knights of the Round Sign.

...We learned that Brett's thus-far undefeated beyblade "Wizard Rod" was just, like, a guy named Rod? Who's a wizard?

...We learned what various people do at Desert Bus.

...We re-enacted the year when we did Star Trek things every day.

...We witnessed and responded to Alpha Flight's Wrestling Promo (uwu)

...We played Late Night Dub Fight.

...We giggled at TikToks (and a super clean Worm).

...And at last, we said farewell and told you where to find us online. Goodbye, Bus! See you in Omega!

Night Watch: Now What Did We Leeearn?

Maybe it was the presence of Kathleen, maybe it was Matt's willingness to put his body on the line for charity, maybe it was Maybelline, but tonight's Night Watch was just jam packed with hijinks. Off the top of our heads... nah, let's give credit where it's due.

Off the VST spreadsheet we use as a cheatsheet, We Learned...

...that Kathleen's book that consumes her every waking AND sleeping thought:

...about how sled dogs re-invented fast food:

...that Matt and Jordan have nearly identical TikTok tastes:

...that Matt will do lots of squats for charity:

...how the VST works from special guest Chrusher:

...what happens when Engineering smashes all the buttons:

...what's happening from Teen Girls on the Street:

And we wound down with Fiddle AND Piano O'Clock:

To say nothing of Night Watch 2024 standards, like the Beyblade Rip-Off and Wet Ones with Kathleen. Whew! This Night has been thoroughly Watched. Until next time!

Litterbox Fiesta: It's Beyblade Time!

The lower bracket's heating up as our favorite losers fight for their chance to stay in the bey. At the end of the day, somebody's gotta be on top! And only one of these losers has a chance, because today's matches will close out our lower bracket. The final draws near!

And it's not just three matches tonight: it's four! Special guest Kathleen has opted to put her spin on things with an exhibition game against Jordan.

Beyblade Bracket

Beys of the Day

  1. Julie v Max in the Litterbox
  2. Ian v Max in the Litterbox
  3. Matt v Ian in the Litterbox
  4. Kathleen v Jordan in the Matt "Cat Enthusiast" Wiggins Memorial Stadium
Choice and Consequence: Wet Ones with Kathleen

Water splashes across the screen, obscuring the camera lens. As it fades, the word "Wet" comes into view (in blue), followed by the word "Ones" (in yellow neon).

New lore for this year's Desert Bus: turns out, Kathleen helped Graham with the selection of wets. "This will surely not come back to bite me," she thought to herself. And then she agreed to come on Night Watch for a single evening and now must consume the very wets she once inflicted on others. And not just any wets! We have saved for her a line-up of the very best wets. 😈

Kathleen grimaces, rolls up her wet napkin, and throws it away. Then she giggles and sticks out her tongue at the camera.

Watch the Wets:

Desert Bus Volunter Max holds up the Desert Bus for Hope 2024 DBLoon, a silver coin with the DB logo on it.

When your wallet's empty from generously donating to the children, you can fill it back up again with a memento of the kindness you showed by getting a DBloon. But those DBloons don't grow on trees, ya know! They grow on the kindness and generosity of longtime sponsor Dracogen, the video game studio created by Friend of the Bus Steve Dengler.

The talented team at Dracogen is currently working on Cosmic Crowbar™: a story-rich, character-driven narrative experience based on the principles of positivity, persistence, and friendship and focused on adventure, discovery, and hope. All themes we love on the Bus! Better keep your eye on this games studio, because they're up to lots of good.

A diverse crew stands on the deck of a prow of a ship at dusk. The crew consists of a person with a bug for a head, a femme person in a wheelchair, a robot, a giant bearded masc person, a colorfully dressed femme person, a dog, a small young masc person, and a crowbar with eyes.
Several images grouped together, featuring characters from Cosmic Crowbar in a variety of scenes. One of them appears to be on a bus!
