Life on the farm can get kind of boring, so it’s a good thing these chickens are ready to head home with you and keep you company! These 5 crocheted chickens are based on the assorted chickens you can get in Stardew Valley: white, brown, blue, golden, and void.
Each chicken is made of polyester yarn and filling, along with some acrylic yarn, and plastic safety eyes. The bodies of the chicken are made from an XL plush yarn with the wings and tails made out of a longer, fluffier yarn. They are each about 35.5cm x 25.4 cm x 35.5 cm (14” x 10” x 14”) and were made using a pattern by Shroomigurumi on Etsy, with a few modifications.
The chickens are extremely soft, huggable, and ready to spend their time on your bed, couch, or lap. Keep an eye on the void chicken though, I feel like it’s planning something.
I know these little guys will bring as much joy to you as they have to me!
Donated By Ladyrhea
Hello! My name is Suzanna, Ladyrhea online. I’ve been tuning in to Desert Bus for Hope since Desert Bus 10 in 2016. This is my second year participating in the Craft-Along.
Crocheting has been a fun hobby of mine since I picked it up in high school while working on my Girl Scout Gold Award, the Girl Scout equivalent to the Eagle Scout Rank in Boy Scouts. For my Gold Award project, I taught myself how to crochet and worked with other craft groups to send over 500 hacky sacks to Haiti, Honduras, and South Africa.
Since my project ended, I have primarily crocheted little plushies. I’ve crocheted Christmas gifts for family and friends. I enjoy surprising friends with little crocheted guys. For Desert Bus for Hope 2024, I donated 8 crocheted rainbow cows and am already looking at what I want to make for 2026.
I greatly enjoy looking back to see how my crocheting has developed over the years, and I look forward to hopefully participating in more Craft-Alongs in the future!
