Before her death, Virginia Lewis was also a close personal friend of Kate Watt, and it is through Kate's assistance and the generosity of the Lewis estate that we are able to offer you these pieces of stunning modern Canadian art for your home.
We will have two winners, one painting to each person! These are one of a kind and you will most likely never get a chance for something like this ever again! So if you'd like to throw your hat in to try and win one of these, then you just need to donate $9.11 (or multiples thereof) before 11:45am PST! Good luck!
These original paintings by Virginia Lewis have been donated to Desert Bus from the artist's estate. Virginia Lewis was pioneering member of Victoria's burgeoning modern art scene in the 1960s, and member of the Point Group, a collective of local artists that brought modern art to Victoria's mainstream by embracing artistic freedom and abstract expressionism. Lewis was trained by members of the Group of Seven, and her paintings are now held in the UVIC permanent collection, and are on display at the Ladysmith Art Gallery, the Union Club, and Government House, the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia.
