About Desert Bus Express
Started in 2007 by internet sketch comedy group LoadingReadyRun, Desert Bus for Hope combines video games and tedium to benefit charity. Desert Bus is the world's longest running internet-based fundraiser and has raised more than $10 million for Child's Play over its eighteen-year history.
Desert Bus Express is a small, virtual only satellite event of Desert Bus for Hope. During the years of 2020 and 2021 the team at Desert Bus for Hope had to pivot from a massive in person event, to what was essentially a week long Zoom call. Of course it was much more involved than that, but it meant a lot of new technology and systems were developed in order to continue to put on the best version of the show we could do. Once we moved the event back to being in person, a lot of the technology we developed over those years was put aside.
Never letting an opportunity pass us by here at Desert Bus HQ, we have decided to dust off those old systems and technologies and use it to run a small, 24 hour event in order to raise some money for a deserving cause!
