Do you paint? Sew? Use found objects to create adorable sculptures of pets from video games? Good, because it’s that time of year again.  On June 15th submissions for the Desert Bus 2017 Craft-Along will officially be open.  You will have until June 30th to get your submissions in, so that we can get back to you with enough time to complete your crafts.  We endeavor to provide everyone with a response to your submission by July 15th. The deadline for receipt of finished crafts will be September 30th.

If you are new to the Craft-Along, and have a great idea for a craft for DB, the process is simple just follow the link for Craft-Along submissions (http://craftalong.desertbus.org/), and fill in the form.  We will need contact information, a description of the craft, and a few other pieces of info.  If you are a returning crafter, well that’s old news; however, this year we will only be taking one submission per crafter.  As this year we have a new Prize Mistress, and Craft-Along Coordinator, we are reducing the total number of prizes, both in terms of awesome crafts, and in terms of those donated by our amazing sponsors.   This gives us a chance to learn the ropes, and give each of you and your projects more attention.

The Desert Bus For Hope Craft-Along community is full of incredibly kind and gifted people who give so much of themselves, and for that we are eternally grateful.  Its people like you who make Desert Bus what it is, a positive gathering of people from across the world to help kids be kids.

You folks rock.

  6. Argh! Missed it again! I checked back every few weeks but the last week of school and first week of summer/summer school is maybe not the best timing for some of us. Any chance next year of announcing in advance when they are going to open? Those of us with busy lives and/or an aversion to twitter would very much appreciate it. Wishing everyone a bussing great DB11!!!

  7. I agree – I have been periodically checking the site as well only to find I completely missed the submission period. Posting the submission time frames a month or two beforehand would be very helpful. Thanks!

  8. Has anyone else not heard back about their submission yet or is it just me? I got mine in well before the deadline and here it is the 15th and I haven’t heard a thing yet.

  10. The craft-along always phrases it about submitting and THEN crafting something. Why can’t you submit already finished crafts?
