Desert Bus for Hope is excited to welcome Phil Plait. Phil will be calling in at 11am PST on Wednesday, November 20.

Phil Plait, PhD, is an American astronomer and the brilliant mind behind the science blog Bad Astronomy, which debunks pseudoscientific theories related to space and astronomy. This blog was hosted by Discover Magazine and then, in 2012, by Slate Magazine. During its run it has been a finalist numerous times for The Weblog Awards best science blog category and was a co-winner in 2007. It has also been named one of Time.com’s 25 Best Blogs.

Phil is the author of two books, Bad Astronomy: Misconceptions and Misuses Revealed, from Astrology to the Moon Landing “Hoax”, which covers material similar to his website, and Death from the Skies!: These are the Ways the World Will End, which describes the ways that astronomical events could wipe out all life on Earth.

When he’s not punching holes in poorly made FOX documentaries discussing how we faked the moon landing, Phil is a frequently called upon specialist and guest for programs such as Penn and Teller: Bullshit! and the SETI Institute’s weekly science radio show Big Picture Science. He also has an asteroid named after him.

Have a question for Phil? Leave them in the comments below.
