Noble intentions aside, as the event progressed this year, it became more and more difficult to stay on top of the huge amount of media coverage we received, both from the bigger blogs and websites and the smaller, personal domains. There are not enough good things I can say about the folks who covered us and helped spread the word about Desert Bus, and while I don’t have time to go into detail, I would like to link back to a as many as I can. Even after scouring the web to the best of my abilities, I don’t think I could possibly find every article, but here are what I hope to be most of them.
1up, 50-Word Stories, Asylum, The B0ne Blog, Beefjack, Beryllium, Blue Ink Alchemy, Buzzfeed, ByteJacker, Daily Kos, Derelict By Design, Digital Cowboy – Colin Keigher, Stolen Pixels (The Escapist), The Escapist, G4, GameIndustry.biz, The Galleon, GamePro, GamePron, GamerZines, Games On, Gay Gamer, Geeking-Out About, Guns and Grapple, Icrontic, Inc Gamers, Intelligent Designs, Joystiq, Kotaku, Monday Magazine, Nimasprout, Nukezilla, Omoshiroi Blog, PC Gamer, Rock Paper Shotgun, Rock Town Hall, Team Liquid, The Times Colonist (our local paper), Twenty-Sided, Today Game News, Train Wreck Love Life, VG247, WRZAddiction
Again, thanks so much to everyone, and if you’re reading this, please go check out these articles: there’s a lot of fantastic and very creative coverage here, that I wish we’d had time, in the heat of the moment, to link back to. Also check out my previous press roundups here and here for the rest of this year’s coverage!
Thanks for the shout out You guys were awesome this year (I’ve been following since Year 1, I even posted this A-Channel video of you guys to youtube in year 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QE5I3eIlRuA ). I was sad that I didn’t have time to attend in person this year (I dropped in for a few minutes at two of the three previous DBs, since I live here in Victoria).
Super mega congrats on breaking 420K raised in the lifetime of DesertBus.
I can’t remember if I ever sent you guys the text of the camosun college essay I wrote during DB1, which incorporated desertbus … so I will link the online version:
