This set of four embroidery hoops is my take on fossilised and skeletal versions of some favourite video game characters and creatures. I imagined what it might look like if these digital icons were discovered as relics from the past, blending gaming nostalgia with archaeology, because fossils are cool. Each piece is completely hand-stitched, with glow-in-the-dark thread hidden in the designs so they look one way in the daylight and then transform into something new once the lights go out.
The collection includes the Ender Dragon from Minecraft, stitched as a skeletal silhouette; the Silent from Slay the Spire, reimagined as a haunting fossil; a Blupee from The Legend of Zelda, captured in glowing detail; and the Helix Fossil, designed as a playful nod to both Pokémon and Animal Crossing.
Together, these pieces are meant to be decorative and fun turning familiar gaming characters into stitched artefacts that feel a bit creepy, especially when their hidden glow is revealed in the dark.
Each embroidery is fixed on to and finished on a wooden embroidery hoop that can be hung easily from a wall fixture straight away, or displayed however you like!
