Giveaway: The Unicorn At Rest In The Lilac Wood
The dappled sunlight and grassy background in this image are warm and inviting and really bring out the whimsical nature of the blanket and The Unicorn herself. The border of the blanket is fully visible here and is meant to evoke an elegant but understated frame.
Here we see the blanket in it's natural environment. This bed is twin sized and the piece covers it nicely.
This is a closer look displaying some of the detail of the piece and illustrating its versatility. It is hung against the brickwork of the house to show off that while it is a cozy addition to the blanket pile, it can be used as a wall hanging as well.
I wanted to show off the stitches and get a closer look at the border here. The Unicorn is peeking out from behind the frame-like border and the detailing of the flora that surround her are on full display here.

This tapestry crochet blanket depicts The Unicorn herself nestled on a bed of moss and surrounded by the vibrant flora of The Lilac Wood. Whether you're frolicking with the butterflies, admiring your reflection in a silvery stream, or battling The Red Bull to free your kin from the sea you are sure to feel cozy wherever you rest with this blanket. The Last Unicorn has always been one of my favorite films. Its beautiful art and the story of hope, courage, friendship, and determination still inspire me today. This piece is meant to fit nicely on a twin size bed and measures approximately 65 inches (164.1cm) wide by 70 inches (190.5cm) tall. Though this blanket is made to be functional and comfy it could also be a beautiful addition to any space as a wall hanging. The Unicorn is brought to life using soft and durable worsted weight yarn that is machine washable and dryer safe on a low or medium setting. For best results wash on delicate with a gentle color safe detergent and lay flat to dry. The blanket was pre-washed after taking the photos in preparation for shipping. Some stray ends may appear with subsequent washing or through general usage and can be trimmed if desired. Please avoid cutting any visible knots, however, as the piece may fray around them. These knots are an inherent part of machine spun yarn and can be poked to the back of the piece with a thin object like a toothpick or the tip of a chopstick.

I always enjoyed traditional arts and crafts and taught myself how to knit and crochet nearly 20 years ago. I made a few projects but didn't really focus on fiber art until I got caught up in the tapestry crochet fad in 2023 and it has consumed me ever since. Last year, with encouragement from my fiance and best friend, I decided to apply for the Craftalong and the experience really inspired me. I now have around 1000 hours worth of experience in this particular method and while the process has been challenging it is so rewarding. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way.
