Giveaway: Crocheted Rainbow Cows
Winner: cogitoErgoSam
Donation drive raised: $3,104.16
Looking for some new desk friends? Maybe you want small plushies to throw at your coworkers or loved ones? Or maybe you just want a little friend to carry in your purse or pocket when you leave the house? These cuddly cows are the best of all worlds. An array of 8 cows, all in a different color, are excited to travel to your home or workplace and start causing chaos and/or comfort.
Each cow is approximately 5.5” x 5” x 2.5”, 14cm x 13cm x 6.5cm, or about the size of an iPhone 12. The pattern I used is from LuckyNguyenGift on Etsy.
Each cow is made from 100% acrylic yarn, safety eyes, polyester Poly-fil, and over 50 hours of movies and TV shows. I kept track of the cows’ “Culture Camp” so that their new home knows what kinds of mischief they’ve been up to and what morals they may have learned. Feel free to check it out! https://bit.ly/CowCultureCamp
All in all, the cows watched at least 30 different movies in addition to many YouTube videos, including VODs of Watch+Play, and episodes of Sophia the First, Once Upon a Time, and Dropout’s Make Some Noise.
I know these little guys will bring as much joy to you as they have to me!
Hello! My name is Suzanna, Ladyrhea online. I’ve been tuning in to Desert Bus for Hope since Desert Bus 10 in 2016. This is my second year participating in the Craft-Along.
Crocheting has been a fun hobby of mine since I picked it up in high school while working on my Girl Scout Gold Award, the Girl Scout equivalent to the Eagle Scout Rank in Boy Scouts. For my Gold Award project, I taught myself how to crochet and worked with other craft groups to send over 500 hacky sacks to Haiti, Honduras, and South Africa.
Since my project ended, I have primarily crocheted little plushies. I’ve crocheted Christmas gifts for family and friends. I enjoy surprising friends with little crocheted guys. For Desert Bus for Hope 2024, I donated 8 crocheted rainbow cows and am already looking at what I want to make for 2026.
I greatly enjoy looking back to see how my crocheting has developed over the years, and I look forward to hopefully participating in more Craft-Alongs in the future!
