'Substructure' - Limbo painting

Lost in fetid caves and hives of dark machinery, Limbo's little protagonist stumbles on, wide-eyed and wary. The visual style of the game, with its slightly granular planes of silhouettes and shade, is a great fit for india ink.

The painting is unframed. The full paper measures 10 by 22 inches, with the painted portion being 9 by 21 inches. Materials: India Ink wash on 140lb Rives BFK printmaking paper.

Artist Eric Johnson is a Northern British Columbian who has been painting for the past twenty years, give or take. He primarily focuses on watermedia, in the form of watercolors and india ink wash, although he also enjoys using pencil, pen, and acrylic. In addition to various practice projects and art for friends and family - most of which are viewable on inkompetence.tumblr.com - he's working in a partnership on a watercolor graphic novel, loosely based on sections of Spenser's "The Faerie Queene." Bits of it can be seen on counterfet.com, and in "The Graphic Canon, Vol. 1" edited by Russ Kick.
