Desert Bus Drive Your Own Adventure Trilogy: Las Vegas or Bust – Tucson or Bust – There and Back Again, set 2
“It is early morning, you’re arriving for your shift at the main bus depot in Tucson, Arizona.”
So begins the gripping tale of a bus’ 45 mph journey across the shimmering desert expanse between Tucson, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada. The narrative invites the reader to experience in full and seemingly endless detail the adventure of Desert Bus, in over 1,000 glorious pages of sand-covered monotony.
Get this 3 volume set and choose for yourself how the adventure will end. The books stand 10.25″ tall and 7″ wide, a proud and gleaming addition to any collector’s shelves. And just how does one create a trilogy like this?
-Play Desert Bus at hyperspeed to obtain screen shots required
-Create a flowchart for each book, to keep track of which pages link where.
-Save out all pages individually in photoshop changing the screen shots and text so the pages link together (Book 1 & 2 took 10+ each, Book 2 took 5-6 hours). In this part Elomin was checking four different programs at once to make sure there wasn’t a mistake (though one or two still snuck through).
- Have printed by Ka-Blam! Digital Printing

Big Bag o’ Dice 3
Scott knows the value of having an elegant way to store your dice. Taking advantage of working at an embroidery store, he embellished a Crown Royale bag with lovely golden stitching, labeling the bag for easy recognition. And, of course, where there’s a dice bag, there should be dice, so he figured he’d better fill the bag. (We counted… sort of, until we ran out of fingers, and then we just guessed. But we estimate that there are over 300 dice in this bag.) The dice were acquired from the Chessex booth at the 2011 Origins Game Fair. On top of having a plethora of dice for all gaming needs (unless you play exalted in which case you’ll want a few more d10s) each bag has one sterling silver plated d6 from Irondie making it dual use as both a gaming aid and an emergency holdout anti-werewolf weapon. Materials used: A Crown Royale bag, gold (coloured) thread and approximately one metric bus tonne of dice.

Anatomy of a Repeater – fimo model
It’s well known that the deadly plants of Plants versus Zombies are genetic mutations of their peaceful anscestors, but few people understand how they truly work. However, long and careful research has shown that Crazy Dave, in fact, combined the dna of mammals with that common peas and other vegetables. This lead to the sprouting of the first peashooter. Time, dedication and training later transformed that first plant into a wild, raging Repeater.
Here, you can see the dissection of this mighty piece of flora. Approach it with caution, and, if you value your life, for goodness sake don’t ask it for brains.
Materials: Fimo, Super Sculpey Firm, acrylic paint (for the Repeater); cardboard, papier mache, acrylic paint, white plaster, transparent coating (for the box)

Ceramic NES cartridges – green and rainbow hued
Here’s a lovely decorative reminder of gaming days gone by, back when the world was tougher and Mario had to trudge uphill in the snow both ways. From the crafter: “The cartridges are roughly 9/ 10 scale. After making plaster moulds off of an original cartridge I was able to produce copies using casting slip. These were fired to a low temperature (900 – 1000°C), glazed, then fired a second time to cone 6 (around 1225°C). They are mainly meant to be decorative, but they can also be used as trivets or coasters, and the glazes are food safe, so you could even eat off of them if you were so inclined.” Yeah, we know you want to. Materials: Earth, Water, Fire, and a pinch of magicite

cross stitch Desert Bus patch AND Penn and Teller live show program signed to Desert Bus
You never know just when and where Desert Bus might come up in conversation, but it’s probably not unlikely to assume that the subject might arise when speaking with Penn and Teller. At a meet-and-greet following one of their live shows in Vegas, Desert Bus viewer Charles mentioned the infamous bus, and long story short they autographed his program with a special message to “Desert Bus.” Charles, thinking other people might find the whole thing as nifty as he did, has sent it along to us, and we are now giving all of you the chance to have it sent along to you. A veritable piece of Desert Bus history. If you ask really nicely maybe we can try to get a genuine bug splat on there for you as well. Along with the program, you’ll get a handmade cross stitched Desert Bus patch, ready to be sewn to any bag, or coat or cloth of any kind. A chance for you to flaunt your Desert Bus pride for all the world to see. This is some of the very first cross stitch work of crafter Excelle, and it looks pretty bussing sweet! Materials: cross-Stitch silks and felt, plus dissolvable canvas and iron on interfacing

glass Portal sushi plate set
When you sit down to a nice relaxed sushi dinner with your significant other, what could be more pleasant than to reminisce about that time you escaped from the insane clutches of an unscrupulous scientific research corporation? These beautiful glass plates will help you relive those precious memories.
The plates are lovingly crafted by Helen Cowart, who enjoys making art glass that is both functional and beautiful. Her work incorporates precious metals, glass, enamels – whatever she can fire in a kiln.
These pieces are made with Bullseye glass and a dichroic metal coating that give the glass a unique optical property. It was fired 2 times, the first time to a temperature of 1450 degrees F to fuse the glass pieces together and a second lower temperature firing (slumping) to soften the glass into the mold.
Materials: fused glass and dichroic coating

Earthbound Bead Sprites – magnet set
Modern video game graphics are getting pretty amazing, it’s true. So cinematic. So compelling. But the chunky pixel graphics of yesteryear have a charm all their own. Here, Monica has used perler beads to emulate that pixelated charm, creating these pixel-accurate images of the four heroes from Earthbound. Magnets are attached to the backs, so you can put them on your fridge, where every time you go for a coke, they will remind you of a gentler, less cinematic (but no less compelling) time. Materials: hama, perler beads

Angel-Bashing Sigil brooch
This pin features the Enochian sigil used in Supernatural to banish angels. Now, by keeping this felt pin close at hand, you can rest assured of your safety from meddlesome heavenly visitors.
The sigil is merino wool yarn needle-felted onto wool felt. Unlike pins with designs printed on paper, it will not be significantly damaged by water (although the colours may bleed slightly), so it’s safe to pin on your hat, bag, or jacket, even if you live an umbrella-free life on the Wet Coast.
Needle-felting is a new hobby Rebekkah recently got into as a spin off from knitting, her main passion.
