MrPayneTrayne, starting around 1:50 of this video from last year's Desert Bus should answer your question.

Wow, you are right daddy Ashton, I should pay exorbitant amounts of money to schedule a flight to the moon, that way I could hang out on camera and be a part of of the marathon.

Be forewarned I really need it to be quite for my 3 hour nap from 6 to 9 every evening and the lights will have to be turned off and everyone will need to be quite when I got to bed at 11. And I tend to get grumpy if someone doesn't make my garlic curry every morning.

I look forward to contributing my extensive talents at semi-erotic wood carving LIVE. It should really increase your viewership, but I wont ever sell my art, once im done carving it I always use a belt sander to slowly transform the block of wood into a fine mist.

Seeing someone I had met a few years ago on DB was awesome, but I understand the crew's point because honestly, things get pretty helter skelter up in there.

Off topic, can somebody tell me where the 'Daddy' bit came from? I remember Graham frequently saying "Help daddy with on this one", or something along the lines during DB5 but no clue as to why.

So what you're saying is that if you want to come and "help out," you should A) make arrangements for a place to sleep and shower, B) have a good idea of what you can add to the proceedings, C) contact the crew once you have A and B sorted, and make sure they need someone to do B, and then D), reconsider coming, anyway, as the travel money is generally better spent as a direct donation to DBFH. If you have a place to sleep, have something to do, have contacted the crew and gotten approval to come, and decided that your best contribution to the fundraiser would be made by being there in person, then maybe consider showing up. Otherwise, revisit all steps in order.

Having tried to organize people before, a "hey I can do X, Y, or Z" is much, much more helpful than "do you have anything for me to do" ever will be.

The crew aren't there to let you crash on their couches. They've probably all got friends coming into town during DBFH who are going to do exactly that. You will most likely have to rent a hotel room for the duration of your stay if you plan on showing up.

There is, as stated above, both in the video, and in Kirsten's comment, very limited space in the office. People who aren't really there to do anything are generally more in the way than anything. The moonbase is a busy place, and even more so during Desert Bus.

Having watched the DBFH stream since DBFH2: Bus Harder, I've seen attendance balloon, and you can tell when people are just in the way. With the number of people who'll be in and out of the moonbase, it's really hard to not be in the way unless you have a purpose in being where you are.

The last part in this video shows pretty well how small the moonbase really is (starts around 7:55):

Ashton's right guys. The Moonbase really is quite small. That being said, please please PLEASE ask the LRR crew if you are even *thinking* about coming to the Moonbase at ALL during November. There is ONE toilet, NO shower, and NO spare room in which to sleep. And there is very limited room in which to even sit.

Just my two cents.
