  8. Love every single last one of you guys, the people who were there, the people who weren’t but contributed in a variety of ways, and of course that chat. Everything combined to make a absolutely fantastic (if sleep-depriving and pattern altering) experience. I’ll laughed, I’ll cried, I’ve even cried with laughter, by god it was amazing.

    See you next year!

  11. Thank you for an amazing week. This is only my second desert bus but it’s already become a big party of my year and after the craptastic one I’ve had at times it was a welcome distraction. You guys are all BUSING AMAZING and I would love to be able to volunteer one year – even if it’s just by blogging from here in the UK.

Keep on rockin’ you guys and I’ll see y’all on the LRR forum!

  12. Thank you so much LRR (and crew)! I look forward to DB every year, and I could not picture this time of year without it. You are doing great things, and I hope DB will continue for years to come, as I want my children to witness how much fun it is, and how much good it does.

    Thank you so much!

  19. This year’s Desert Bus was amazing! I loved Alex recreating “Trip to the Store”, complete with flailing, and seeing my crafts go up for Silent Auction (and sell for so much, by all the Gods!) I only wish the food I sent got there in time for DB, but there is always next year!

(Side note: Kate, I sent you an e-mail, but don’t know your e-mail address. I sent it via Desertbus.org. I hope you get it.)

  20. Well done you guys. Once again desertbus was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all of us who didn’t have to stay awake through the whole things.
Congratulations on your very successful endeavour.

  32. I sadly wasn’t around for the thrilling conclusion (was more than a bit late out here), but that was another unbelievable week of Desert Bus. Congrats on blowing away record after record! And here’s to next year’s run!

    By CaptainSpam - November 23rd, 2012 10:27 am
  33. You guys had a fantastic run this year. As a Victorian who has been watching since the original, it’s been awesome to watch this marathon grow up into such an event. It’s certainly something I look forward to every year!

  38. Thank you all so much. To my fellow donors, to the LRR Crew and Desert Bus help, to the folks who crafted SO much, and to the people who donated their own stuff for the auction lots, you are amazing. Desert Bus and Child’s Play are SUCH good causes, and it warms my heart every year when we just get better and better.

To the crew: have a good rest, you’ve earned it.
To everyone else: Start saving for next year! We’re gonna make it bigger and better. For the children.

    By Kain292 - November 23rd, 2012 1:20 pm
  39. Every year Desert Bus is always a highlight. For a week straight I have something to participate in and watch. I’d keep my laptop next to my bed and fall asleep watching you guys and in the morning there you’d be! It’s always the best week of the year to watch you all. Now what am I going to do? can’t wait for next year!

    By Dru - November 23rd, 2012 1:25 pm
  40. I <3 you guys so much. The LRR Crew, the DB volunteers, the donors, the chat and this community in general prove every year that you guys are amazing. What you guys do is so important. Please never stop :)

  41. Thank you everyone for such a great year! You guys are amazing and I’m so glad I get to hang out with all of you each year. My whole family had a ton of fun watching too, I always had a crowd around my computer cheering you on.

Have a good rest, you’ve earned it! <3

  42. I missed a great deal of this year, unfortunately, because of missing the first two days completely then having to balance Desert Bus with work and family duties. What I did see was amazing. Every year for six years now you guys at LoadingReadyRun, and associates, have come together and done something absolutely incredible, sitting down without sleep to play through arguably the most boring video game ever created and essentially whore yourselves out (comedically speaking) for the amusement of people on the internet in the vain hope that those people watching, myself included, will shell out money for the sake of children who are less fortunate than ourselves – and we do so, because as we say, it’s for the kids. But it’s so easy for us to sit here at home watching it all and donating ten dollars here or twenty there, money that we can easily do without, whereas you guys at LoadingReadyRun, and the team of volunteers that support the whole thing each year, are doing all the hard work, taking time off your day jobs and losing sleep and becoming performing monkeys – again, all for the kids. You guys are the ones who work the hardest on this. So there’s little need to thank us, we’re the ones who should (and from the other comments clearly are) thank you – you’re the best. Congratulations to all the team, all those who donated prizes, and to all the donors, it’s been great. Roll on Desert Bus VII!

  43. I got booted from the chat just during the thank yous, so I didn’t get a chance to say thank you to the DB crew for such a blast. Last year I discovered Desert Bus halfway through the run, and so this was the first year that I was able to enjoy the whole thing. I even submitted a piece for the Craft-Along, which was the first time any of my crafts have ever earned any sort of money.

Also, thanks to the chat for making my personal DB experience so much fun. I really enjoyed being able to take part. I can’t wait for DB007!

    By KyrieEleison - November 23rd, 2012 4:57 pm
  44. What can I say that hasn’t yet been said? Desert Bus enriches my life, it fills me with such hope and energy that cannot be found anywhere else. I spent almost the whole of DB6 painting (which is not something I’ve done in a while.) with you guys on in the background, and it was wonderful.
I shall continue to use phrases such as ‘qwopping balls’ in everyday life, and each time I do, I will be reminded that somewhere out there in the the world are bright, beautiful people who believe that we as humanity have within us the capacity for infinite kindness. All my love goes to Childs Play, the DB6 crew, and of course the chat.

    See you next year!

  45. I’m just watching the last few minutes of your show, since I had to attend my maths lecture+studies, so i missed it :(

And I have to say… I’ve been watching Desert Bus for 5 years now and I can count the hours I slept the last 7 days on my hand and feet. I’m exhausted, my gf is mildly annoyed, but it was worth every second!

Thank you, looking forward to next year! And now I need sleep. A lot of sleep.

    By EdwardGein - November 23rd, 2012 5:41 pm
  46. To all my chat kids. I miss you all soooo much already .Can hardly wait for DB7. None of this could happen without your support for the crew. A big thanks to all the donors and participants for making this a HUGE success. love y’all.

    By billsmom - November 23rd, 2012 6:45 pm
  47. I missed loads this year cause I have a job now, but that did mean I could actually buy stuff! This was the best Desert Bus so far. I thought you’d have a hard time topping DB5, but somehow you made it even more crazy and fun than ever before!

    Whale Plaid!

  48. Thank you everyone at desert bus and contributors.
It has been a good week watching as much as I could between work and other obligations.
    See you next year.

  49. This was the best Desert Bus I’ve experienced yet! I don’t even have proper words to describe how amazing it was. And it went so smoothly, you could tell how much work was done behind the scenes. Mad props to everyone at the Moonbase, onscreen and off!

I personally always knew we’d beat last year’s total, but I honestly didn’t expect it to be by THAT much! Congrats to EVERYONE! Let’s hit $450k next year!!
