Even with our event over, and our ChipIn marked as closed, those of you still watching this site will notice that our donation total continues to rise. Is this a mistake? Absolutely not!
In fact, these are more amazing Desert Bus donations contributed via e-cheque, that are only now clearing through PayPal. As a result, our total has risen almost $5000 since Desert Bus came to a close last Thursday.
How high will it get? We honestly don’t know — we have no way of really tracking e-cheque donations. We’ll announce our final total at the end of the week, by which time we’re pretty sure everything will have gone through. Can we break $140 000 (double last year’s total)? The answer is mere days away.

We actually already did drive that extra hour.
You’ll notice we drove for 136 hours by the big clock but were only paid for 135. In fact if when the dust settles and we still haven’t reached that 136th hour then you guys owe us an hour. So get those Sega CDs ready to go

They already drove an extra 2 hours. So, they will break even.
Question Jer, Are you able to get a approximate total of the donations that went through for the time Chip-in went down?
Because Im sure people were extremely generous in that last hour.

If they make enough money another $5,000, does that mean they will have to bus for another 1 hour, becauase we cleared the 4,498.99 need for hour 136?

So it turns out, they did give a free hour toward the end. Considering the price of that hour, I’m not surprised. But when all is said and done, it will really only turn out to be a free 10 or 15 minutes.

Whether or not we get enough money to click over into an extra hour is irrelevant at this point: we assumed at the end of the event that e-cheques would bump us up an extra hour, and drove an extra hour accordingly.
Graham was going to investigate the last-minute donation stuff with Child’s Play, though I don’t know what came of it. I’ll look into it.
