Well during the night shift we surpassed 15,000 and then some. We are now required to go into our 103rd hour. You guys either really like helping children, or really like making us play this terrible game. Graphics are to follow. Mind you, at this rate we will most likely go past 16,000 before we have a freakin’ chance to get them up. The end has never been so close (18 hours) but i suppose that could change
Additionally, we’re being less picky with the graphics now, because you all need to see the awesome:

Thanks everyone!

We’re getting the graphics from our chat viewers now, but we can still barely keep up.

Also, there are now two sympathetic Desert Bus webcams. They must not have been watching ours very well to think it was a good idea.

But the desert hasn’t ended yet!
We’re still going. 100 hours and beyond!

You guys have made a huge difference through all this. We would like to thank everyone who has donated, stopped by, dropped off food, and spent time with us in the chatroom.
Also thank you to everyone who has linked to us:

Just FYI, we are being hit by a whole ton of traffic right now (Hi again Penny Arcade readers!). At the moment we seem to be doing ok (if a little slow) thanks to the magic of WP-Super-Cache, but the site is now lockdown mode just to be safe. All this means is that if you post comments on the blog, you might not see them appear right away and the donations total on the side might be delayed.

I’m not sure when it will end, hopefully never. As it stands we have gone off the road twice, once in the first 20min we were paid $500 by Eddie Gorodetsky (one of the concept originators). And Sadly again around the 2day 5hour 50min mark our driver cam went down and we became distracted. This unfortunate turn will not dampen our spirits, we will go on! We will complete the journey!
UPDATE: As of 2days 10hours and 23min there have been 3 crashes. In the early morning the driver drifted off to sleep and drifted off the road.

Every time we make another $1000 the drivers sag slightly, realizing how their cruel fate is sealed.
Then we all think for a second… we were astounded when we hit $5000. We laughed when Teller suggested we could make it to $10,000. And we have.
Thank you everyone.
Keep it coming!

Partly because we’re all very, very tired. But also because it’s astounding. Keep it coming everyone!

We’re having a lot of fun interacting with everyone on the IRC chat, so definitely log in if you haven’t. Also, we’ve been receiving additional donations in exchange for the drivers and the pit crew doing impressive and/or embarrassing things, so that’s always fun.

Thanks to Mike H, who had our back when we forgot to screenshot 1337 miles. Yay, Mike!
